kukui nut (aleurites moluccans): Comes from the state tree of Hawaii, first domesticated in southeast Asia. It’s emollient/moisturizing properties are stellar for both skin and hair. It’s light, non-greasy and fast absorbing. Also great for healing/regenerating skin cells and nourishing and strengthening hair. Fun Fact: Kukui means enlightenment in Hawaiian.

sweet almond (prunus dulcis): Perfect for skin and hair products. Famous for its anti-inflammatory properties which eliminate annoying beard itch. Offers stellar moisturizing, skin and hair softening and regenerating properties.

argan (argania spinose l. kernel): Comes from the nuts of the Argan tree indigenous to Morocco. High in vitamin E and certain polyphenols (protects the body’s tissues).

jojoba (simmondsia chinensis): Comes from the nuts of a drought resistant shrub native to AZ, CA and Mexico. Most people think it’s an oil, but it’s actually a wax that is very similar to natural oils found on our skin. Absorbs super quickly into hair follicles without blocking them.

caprylic/capric triglycerides (from coconut oil, cocos nucifera): It’s a very light, silky feeling oil that helps thicker oils absorb much faster and eliminates the greasy feel.

camellia “tea seed oil” (camellia sinensis): Comes from cold pressed tea seeds. It’s a very light, non-greasy oil and a rich source of omega 3-6-9 fatty acids and vitamin E. Amazing stuff with stellar moisturizing, skin regenerating, and anti-inflammatory properties.

meadowfoam seed (limnanthes alba): Comes from cold pressed seeds of a durable coastal flowering plant native to Oregon. Has a very similar profile to jojoba and absorbs very quickly. We use it as an extremely stable and powerful antioxidant, but it’s also a great conditioner that adds to your beard's natural ‘glow’.

avocado (persea americana): Coming from a fruit known for it’s nutritional properties, Avocado oil is LOADED with vitamins and other compounds that are beyond amazing for your skin and hair health.

shea olein (vitellaria paradoxa): Comes from the nuts of the shea tree. It’s basically a much, much lighter and faster absorbing, yet just as hydrating, protecting and soothing version of shea butter (it comes from the same plant). Also very high in vitamin E and anti-inflammatory compounds. Probably one of the best feeling ingredients - it feels elegant and silky on the skin. We use it mainly for it’s occlusive properties though, which is a very thin and breathable layer that keeps the skin’s moisture ‘in’.

hydrogenated ethylhexyl olivate (and) hydrogenated olive oil unsaponifiables (both naturally-derived from olives): A natural replacement to silicone-based ingredients. It gives your beard a sleek, shiny (not overly) look and offers the nutritional benefits of pure olive oil.

safflower (carthamus tinctorius): Safflower is an all around great oil. Very light, fast absorbing, clear, and stable and acts as the carrier for the licorice root extract below.

squalane: Used to be extracted from shark livers and later olives, but can now be sustainably synthesized from a yeast fermentation process (we use the last method). It has a very silky, smooth and elegant feel and won’t be found in any other beard oil. Which is unfortunate, because the addition of this can really transform a beard oil into something great.

castor (ricinus communis): Comes from castor beans found in Western India. It easily penetrates the skin and hair with it’s softening properties. Like shea olein, castor also keeps your skin’s natural moisture ‘trapped’ behind a breathable layer.
